Official Contest Rules & Regulations
1. Sponsor
The YNCU’s Bank to Play $30K Giveaway (the “Contest”) is sponsored and administered by Your Neighbourhood Credit Union Limited (“YNCU”), located in Ontario, Canada.
2. Contest Period
The Contest begins April 13, 2026 at 12:00 a.m. Eastern Time and ends October 30, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time (the “Contest Period”).
Entries received or completed outside the Contest Period will not be eligible.
3. Eligibility
The Contest is open to individuals legally resident in Ontario, Canada who are eighteen (18) years of age or older and who are either existing members of YNCU or eligible to become members in accordance with YNCU’s established membership criteria.
Employees, officers, directors and agents of YNCU, and their immediate family members or persons living in the same household, are not eligible to participate.
Participants must maintain an active YNCU membership, including the required $5 member share, and accounts in good standing where entries are earned through account-based activities, and otherwise comply with all other Contest Rules and Regulations provided for herein, in order to qualify for prizes.
4. How to Enter
Participants may enter the Contest using one of the following entry methods during the Contest Period.
Entry Method 1 — New Member Payroll Entry
Individuals who are not currently members of YNCU may receive five (5) ballot entries by completing all of the following actions during the Contest Period:
Open a new YNCU chequing account.
Fund the required $5 member share to establish active membership with YNCU.
Set up direct payroll deposit to the YNCU chequing account from their employer.
Receive at least one qualifying payroll deposit during the Contest Period.
Upon confirmation of the first qualifying payroll deposit as aforesaid (and completion of actions in 1. – 3. above), the participant will receive five (5) ballot entries.
To remain eligible for ongoing prize draws, participants must continue to receive at least one qualifying payroll deposit within each thirty (30) day period during the Contest Period.
Payroll deposits must originate from a bona fide employer payroll system. Transfers initiated by the participant, internal transfers, or self-directed deposits will not qualify. Provided that pPension, CPP, OAS and ODSP payments to the participant’s YNCU chequing account will qualify as payroll deposits.
New members may also earn additional ballot entries through the activities described under “Entry Method 4 - Additional Ballot Opportunities” below.
Entry Method 2 — Existing Member Payroll Entry – No Payroll Before April 1, 2026
Existing YNCU members who did not have payroll direct deposit established with YNCU prior to April 1, 2026 may receive five (5) ballot entries by:
Setting up direct payroll deposit to their YNCU chequing account during the Contest Period; and
Receiving at least one qualifying payroll deposit during the Contest Period.
Upon confirmation of the qualifying payroll deposit as aforesaid, the participant will receive five (5) ballot entries.
To remain eligible for ongoing prize draws, participants must continue to receive at least one qualifying payroll deposit within each thirty (30) day period during the Contest Period.
Payroll deposits must originate from a bona fide employer payroll system. Provided that pPension, CPP, OAS and ODSP payments to the participant’s YNCU chequing account will qualify as payroll deposits.
Participants may also earn additional ballot entries through the activities described under “Additional Ballot Opportunities” below.
Entry Method 3 — Existing Members with Qualifying Payroll (Established Before April 13, 2026)
Existing YNCU members who had qualifying payroll direct deposit established with YNCU prior to April 1, 2026 are not automatically eligible to receive ballot entries for the Contest based on such payroll alone.
To receive ballot entries, these participants must complete at least one of the qualifying activities described under “Entry Method 4 - Additional Ballot Opportunities” during the Contest Period.
Upon completion of at least one such qualifying activity, the participant will:
Receive five (5) ballot entries for their existing qualifying payroll; and
Receive the applicable ballot entries for the qualifying activity completed as provided for in Entry Method 4 – Additional Ballot Opportunities.
Upon at least one such qualifying activity under Entry Method 4 being completed, participants may continue to earn additional ballot entries by completing other qualifying activities provided for in the Entry Method 4 section.
Entry Method 4 — Additional Ballot Opportunities (Available to All Eligible Participants)
Participants may earn additional ballot entries by completing the following qualifying activities during the Contest Period:
Recurring Bill Payment Entry
Participants may receive one (1) ballot entry for each new recurring bill payment established from a YNCU account.
Provided that a maximum of three (3) ballot entries may be earned through recurring bill payment setup even if the participant sets up more than three separate recurring bill payments.
Recurring bill payments must be bona fide and established with an external arm’s length payee and must remain active at the time of the applicable prize draw.
Referral Entry
Existing members may receive five (5) ballot entries for each individual they refer who meets all the following criteria:
Opens a new YNCU account
Purchases and funds the required $5 member share
Meets the applicable Contest eligibility requirements
The referring member must be identified at the time the new account is opened for the new member.
Referrals must be for bona fide new members and may be subject to verification by YNCU. Self-referrals or duplicate accounts will not qualify.
There is no limit to the number of Referral ballot entries, provided all qualifying conditions are met.
New Funds Deposit Entry
Participants may earn additional ballot entries by transferring new funds to YNCU during the Contest Period.
Participants will receive ballot entries based on the total cumulative value of new funds deposits made during the Contest Period, as set out in the following tiers:
Five (5) ballot entries for total cumulative new funds deposits between $1,000 CAD and $4,999 CAD
Ten (10) ballot entries for total cumulative new funds deposits between $5,000 CAD and $9,999 CAD
Fifteen (15) ballot entries for total cumulative new funds deposits of $10,000 CAD or more
Ballot entries awarded for new funds deposits are not cumulative across tiers. Each participant will receive only the highest applicable number of ballot entries based on their total cumulative qualifying deposits during the Contest Period.
Eligible accounts include:
Savings accounts
Non-registered deposit accounts
Registered accounts including RRSP or TFSA
Guaranteed Investment Certificates (GICs), including renewals funded with new external funds
First Home Savings Account (FHSA)
Only new funds transferred from another financial institution qualify.
Transfers between existing YNCU accounts or a renewal of an existing YNCU investment do not qualify as new funds.
Ballot entries for new funds deposits may only be awarded once per participant during the Contest Period, based on the participant’s highest qualifying deposit tier.
Entry Method 5 — No Purchase Necessary Entry
Participants may enter the Contest without opening an account or completing a financial transaction.
To receive one (1) ballot entry without purchase, participants must:
Complete the form and answer the question with a 50-word minimum limit online at yncu.com/play.
Participants entering through this method will receive one (1) ballot entry into the Contest. No purchase is necessary. Limit 1 no purchase necessary ballot entry per participant.
5. Prize Pool
A total of 330 prizes will be awarded during the Contest Period subject to the terms and conditions herein.

6. Prize Draws
Weekly prize draws will occur every Thursday at 1:00 PM Eastern Time during the Contest Period commencing on May 7, 2026 and continuing on every Thursday thereafter up to and including October 29, 2026.
Participants who qualify will be entered into all remaining weekly draws and the Grand Prize draw.
Once a participant has been confirmed as a winner of a weekly $50 gift card prize or a feature prize, that participant will no longer be eligible for additional weekly or feature prize draws for the remainder of the Contest Period.
However, those participants will remain eligible for the Grand Prize draw.
The Grand Prize draw will take place on December 10, 2026 at approximately 1:00 PM Eastern Time, approximately thirty (30) days after the Contest Period ends to allow time for verification of entries.
All draws will take place at YNCU’s head office or another location designated by YNCU.
7. Odds of Winning
Odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received.
No specific odds of winning are guaranteed.
8. Qualification and Maintenance Requirements for Prize Draws
To ensure fairness and prevent abuse of the Contest entry process, the following requirements apply.
Payroll Requirement
To remain eligible for prize draws based on payroll deposits, participants must:
Have received at least one qualifying payroll deposit within the thirty (30) days preceding the applicable draw date; and
Maintain an active YNCU membership, including a funded member share and an open chequing account in good standing.
Eligibility for each draw will be determined as of the draw date based on the criteria above.
Participants who do not receive a qualifying payroll deposit within the aforesaid thirty (30) day period may be excluded from the applicable draw but may regain eligibility upon receipt of a subsequent qualifying payroll deposit.
Payroll deposits must originate from a bona fide employer payroll system.
Self-directed transfers, internal transfers, or non-payroll deposits will not qualify as payroll entries. Provided that pPension, CPP, OAS and ODSP payments to the participant’s YNCU chequing account will qualify as payroll deposits.
To remain eligible for ongoing prize draws, participants who had payroll established prior to the Contest Period, must have, in addition to any other requirements, received at least one qualifying payroll deposit within the thirty (30) days preceding each draw date. [NTD – the deleted wording deals with eligibility for ballot entries which is already covered in section 3]
Deposit Requirement
For ballot entries earned through new funds deposits as aforesaid in the Entry Method 4 section:
Funds must remain on deposit with YNCU at the time of the applicable prize draw.
If qualifying funds are withdrawn or transferred out prior to the draw date, the corresponding ballot entries will be voided.
Deposit Manipulation Restriction
YNCU reserves the right to review account activity and disqualify entries associated with transactions that reasonably appear to be made solely for the purpose of generating Contest entries without the intent to maintain a legitimate banking relationship.
9. Right to Audit Entries
YNCU reserves the right to audit all entries and associated account activity used to qualify for Contest ballot entries.
YNCU may review account transactions, payroll deposits, referrals, or deposits associated with Contest ballots to ensure compliance with all of the Contest Rules and regulations contained herein.
If YNCU reasonably determines that entries were generated through activity that violates any the Contest Rules or Regulations, or appears intended to manipulate the Contest, YNCU reserves the right to immediately void those entries or disqualify the participant.
10. Prize Claim Requirements
Before being declared a winner, selected entrants must:
• Correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question
• Sign a Declaration and Release Form
Failure to comply may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate entrant.
11. Winner Notification
Selected entrants will be contacted using the contact information provided.
If a selected entrant cannot be contacted within five (5) business days, declines the prize, or fails to meet Contest requirements, YNCU reserves the right to select an alternate entrant in accordance with the prize draw requirements provided for herein.
12. Contest Modification or Cancellation
YNCU reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel, suspend, terminate, extend, or modify this Contest at any time, including modifying the prize structure or substituting prizes of equal or greater value, if for any reason the Contest cannot be conducted as originally planned or if circumstances arise that, in the reasonable opinion of YNCU, affect the integrity, fairness, or proper administration of the Contest.
Without limiting the foregoing, YNCU reserves the right to introduce, modify, or remove methods of entry or ballot-earning opportunities during the Contest Period, including changes to the number of ballot entries available for specific activities, where such changes are reasonably required to support business objectives or promotional initiatives.
Any such changes will be applied in a manner that is fair and compliant with any applicable laws and will be communicated through updates to the official Contest Rules or other appropriate channels, including an update on its website as determined by YNCU.
13. Prize Substitution
If a prize becomes unavailable for any reason, YNCU reserves the right to substitute the prize with another prize of equal or greater value.
14. Anti-Tampering and Disqualification
YNCU reserves the right to immediately disqualify any participant who attempts to tamper with the entry process, violate these Contest Rules and Regulations, or otherwise undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest.
15. Publicity
By accepting a prize, winners agree that YNCU may use their first name, city of residence, and likeness for promotional purposes without additional compensation where permitted by law.
16. Limitation of Liability
By participating in the Contest, participants agree to release and hold harmless YNCU and its employees, officers, directors, and agents from and against any claims, liability for injuries, losses, or damages arising from participation in the Contest or acceptance or use of any prize.
YNCU is not responsible for lost, late, misdirected, incomplete, or illegible entries or for technical errors that may affect participation or eligibility.
17. Brand Disclaimer
Apple, Yeti, Endy, Samsung, Giant, Tim Hortons, Canadian Tire, Shoppers Drug Mart and Air Canada are not sponsors of or affiliated with this Contest.
18. Privacy
Personal information collected during the Contest will be used solely for administering the Contest and in accordance with YNCU’s privacy policies.
19. Governing Law
This Contest is governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the laws of Canada applicable therein.

1. Sponsor
The YNCU’s Bank to Play $30K Giveaway (the “Contest”) is sponsored and administered by Your Neighbourhood Credit Union Limited (“YNCU”), located in Ontario, Canada.
2. Contest Period
The Contest begins April 13, 2026 at 12:00 a.m. Eastern Time and ends October 30, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time (the “Contest Period”).
Entries received or completed outside the Contest Period will not be eligible.
3. Eligibility
The Contest is open to individuals legally resident in Ontario, Canada who are eighteen (18) years of age or older and who are either existing members of YNCU or eligible to become members in accordance with YNCU’s established membership criteria.
Employees, officers, directors and agents of YNCU, and their immediate family members or persons living in the same household, are not eligible to participate.

4. How to Enter

6. Prize Draws

11. Winner Notification

By accepting a prize, winners agree that YNCU may use their first name, city of residence, and likeness for promotional purposes without additional compensation where permitted by law.
16. Limitation of Liability
By participating in the Contest, participants agree to release and hold harmless YNCU and its employees, officers, directors, and agents from and against any claims, liability for injuries, losses, or damages arising from participation in the Contest or acceptance or use of any prize.
